College Hosts Meeting For Enterprising Women...

 

BUSINESSWOMEN are holding the latest meeting of their new group at Kingston Maurward College tomorrow.
The Enterprising Women group was founded in September 2007 during Open 4 Business week and now has 45 members.
Its August meeting is being held at the college from 6pm onwards with the topic of networking.
There will be a barbecue after the presentation.


Weymouth College principal Sue Moore and Laura McHarrie from Business Link will host the meeting.
A spokesman said: "Like it or not, we network all the time. From the moment we start school we start building relationships. These relationships continue into college, university, work, the church, the pub and the golf club.
"Nowadays, we can do it through online social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, e-cademy and Business Scene and suddenly networking is trendy again."


The August meeting is being co-sponsored by Business Link and Kingston Maurward College Laura McHarrie, who is a business advisor at Business Link, runs the BusinessXchange network.
She has a wealth of experience in business networking.
After an early climb up the corporate ladder, she has started two businesses, a retail outlet and a freelance practice.Working part time in a freight forwarding company, she spent three years at Weymouth College gaining a teaching qualification.She now manages the BusinessXchange service, which is a learning and support network for business owners.


The meeting is free to Enterprising Women members but open to all non-members at the subsidised rate of £10 per head.
