Julie Cleaver of Popcorn Marketing shared some handy hints for self help at low cost, the Take 5 concept -Take 5 Mins to review your business and Take 5 easy to follow steps to make a difference.
Alison Boyle of LA Marketing and Design gave us tips on improving your website, with an emphasis on search engine optimisation.
Finally, Linda Parkinson-Hardman of Grow A Better Business gave us her top ten tips for internet marketing, giving us simple and easy-to-implement strategies to get started. Did you know that you don't even need a website?
After the presentations, Fiona Penny of Sunflowers gave a demonstration on making a Christmas wreaths - five designs for the home.
Feedback consolidation
The presentations were considered useful. Several attendees went away with the intention of improving their website or of starting a blog. There were requests for follow-up talks on setting up a blog, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.
Some members wanted more time for networking, information beforehand on others attending and more information on the website.
