The very first EWD event was held on the 26th September 2007, launching as part of a schedule of Open4Business events. The event included both presentations and question and answer sessions, it finished with socialising and networking over canapés, wine and chocolate.

Opening Presentation – Karenlee Knott and Sue Moore
Sue Moore, the principal of Weymouth College, welcomed everyone to the event and offered a brief overview of what the network was all about, its aims, purposes, visions, values and beliefs. Karenlee Knott, the Enterprise Connection centre manager and chair of the network also offered a welcome and introduced the guest speaker.Guest Speaker Presentation – Kim Horner
Kim Horner founded and established her own successful business CustomerClix, providing sensible analyst relations and training solutions to customer-focused businesses. As well as this she is an acclaimed public speaker; an Advanced Toastmaster (ATM) of Toastmasters International, President of the London Corinthians Public Speaking Club and was runner up in the UK and Ireland Public Speaking Championships 2006.Further, Kim was a finalist at the BlackBerry Women in Technology Awards 2006 in the 'Best use of technology by a female entrepreneur' category. This was for the development of an innovative and unique online solution of forthcoming analyst publications and events. Kim is a Chartered Marketer with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Imperial College Business School, University of London. She now works as an Analyst Relations Consultant, Trainer and Public Speaker and, together with a specially selected and highly professional group of business partners, provides a range of consultancy, services and training courses suitable for any business.Feedback Consolidation
